Webinar Overview

Multiplex immunohistochemistry (mIHC) has become an increasingly valuable tool for researchers seeking to understand complex tissue architecture, cellular interactions, and disease microenvironments. However, many conventional mIHC workflows remain technically challenging, requiring repeated cycles of staining, imaging, signal removal, image alignment and data processing.

Repeated heat treatment and signal stripping can potentially affect tissue integrity and antigen preservation, while lengthy workflows may limit throughput and reproducibility.

In this webinar, Dr. Zhenya Li will introduce a multiplexing strategy based on Cleavable Fluorescent Probe (CFP™) technology, designed to enable iterative cycles of staining, imaging and fluorophore cleavage under mild conditions.

Topics Covered

  • Challenges associated with traditional multiplex immunohistochemistry workflows.
  • Principles of CFP™ technology for multiplex tissue analysis.
  • Strategies for preserving tissue morphology and antigen integrity during repeated staining cycles.
  • Improving detection sensitivity in complex tissue samples.
  • Open-system approaches that allow researchers to utilise standard antibodies without additional labelling requirements.
  • Applications for investigating tumour microenvironments and other complex tissue systems.

Who Should Attend?

This presentation will be of interest to researchers working in:

  • Cancer Biology and Oncology
  • Immunology
  • Pathology
  • Translational Medicine
  • Tissue Biomarker Discovery
  • Spatial Biology and Tissue Imaging

Webinar Abstract

Conventional methods for developing multiple colours in multiplex immunohistochemistry (mIHC) are often complex and restrictive. Traditional mIHC workflows typically involve cyclic labelling, imaging and chromogenic signal removal. However, repeated decolourisation and heat treatment may compromise tissue antigenicity and integrity. In addition, the lengthy staining process and the need for image alignment and merging can create further challenges for researchers.

This seminar will introduce a multiplexing strategy based on Cleavable Fluorescent Probe (CFP™) technology, which enables iterative cycles of staining, imaging and fluorophore cleavage. This innovative mIHC platform allows fluorescence signals to be removed efficiently under mild conditions, preserving antigen integrity and enabling reliable repeated cycling.

The CFP™ workflow offers a rapid and gentle staining process with minimal impact on tissue morphology while delivering enhanced detection sensitivity. Furthermore, the CFP™ assay is an open system, allowing researchers to use their preferred standard antibodies without additional labelling requirements.
